COMPASS School Culinary Arts Students Volunteer at Community Servings

COMPASS' Culinary Arts class will be going to Community Servings in Jamaica Plain once a month to volunteer. Community Servings, with the help of hundreds of volunteers, business, and corporate sponsors, and a dedicated staff and board members, prepare and deliver 7,500 lunches and dinners each week to the homes of almost 775 individuals and families who are homebound with acute life-threatening illnesses.

Other School News:

August 2012: Students in the 11/12 Traditional High School classroom gave back to their community by participating in a volunteer trip sponsored by Habitat for Humanity. The students selfessly donated their time to support others in need. While working there, they learned measumement techniques and how to hang sheetrock, as well as developing skills needed to work on a construction site.

June, 2012: 4 students and 2 staff embarked on a four day journey to Washington D.C. During their adventure they went to a Washington Nationals game, walked the National Mall, and visited multiple museums, including the Museum of Natural History, the National Bulding Museum, and the Spy Museum. Students also enjoyed great food, and hotel amenities including swimming.
