The 2010 Rodman Ride for Kids Takes Place on Saturday, September 25th!This year marks COMPASS 9th consecutive year of participation as a Rodman Ride for Kids designated nonprofit agency committed to working for kids at risk. COMPASS staff and donors were honored and happy to join Don Rodman, President of the Rodman Ride for Kids, at an event held on Monday, June 14th at the Seaport Hotel to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of The Rodman Ride for Kids, and to publicly launch this year's fundraising efforts. Guests enjoyed an evening that included a Q & A with Terry Francona, this year's Ride for Kids Honorary Chairman. Francona's statements included the following: "The Rodman Ride for Kids can be compared to a successful baseball team in that they focus on collaboration and teamwork. I am not aware of any other effort in our community that brings together so many children's agencies to work toward one common goal." Watch for more news and information on this year's Ride as COMPASS prepares to join hundreds of volunteers and over 1200 cyclists for The Ride's largest fundaising event.

The Ride for Kids and its beneficiary agencies, which include COMPASS, fundraise year-round, culminating with The Ride event, when over 1,200 cyclists participate in 25, 50, or 100-mile noncompetitive cycling tours. Held each fall since 1991, the Ride has raised over $31 million for at-risk children. COMPASS raises funds each year through individual donors, riderships, and corporate and foundation sponsorships. In turn, The Ride For Kids matches these funds with a 15% match. All expenses associated with The Ride are underwritten by The Ride For Kids, so this means that when you donate to the COMPASS/Ride For Kids, 115% of your donation will go directly to COMPASS.
