COMPASS Partners with Northeastern’s Service-Learning Program

Tags: ,

COMPASS is pleased to have established a partnership with the Service-Learning Program at Northeastern University’s Center of Community Service. Stephanie, our Northeastern student this fall, represents the course Child Intervention and Treatment led by faculty member Emily Mann. Stephanie has been working with School staff member Brandy Crawford, under the supervision of Anne-Carol Malone, to strengthen the school’s Violence Prevention programming.

They are working on a curriculum unit to address domestic violence which, when developed, will be standardized so that it can be replicated for future student groups. This project continues the COMPASS School’s commitment to its Violence Prevention curriculum, specifically for special needs students.

COMPASS looks forward to a contnued role as a Community Partner with Northeastern’s Service-Learning Program. The Program provides students with valuable field experiences while helping comunity non-profits with opportunities to complete work that limited resources wouldn’t otherwise allow.
