COMPASS Is Excited to Share the Good News About Our Successful "Computer Capital Project"
In January 2011 COMPASS launched this campaign to raise funds to purchase computers and software to replace old equipment.
Funders awarding grants to the Project designated that their funds be used by COMPASS School students for use in classrooms, in the student computer lab, to create a new mobile iPad station, and for the purchase of portable laptops for use with student health education and speech therapy services.
An early challenge grant award from the John Alden Trust with an August 2011 deadline prompted increased efforts to reach the computer project goal in a timely way. Generous responses came in from COMPASS board members, vendors, corporations, and friends of COMPASS. These responses, along with our challenge grant, got us to the half way goal mark by the end of May. A generous donation from the Klarman Family Foundation in June brought COMPASS to a successful completion of this capital equipment goal.
Positive responses from requests to foundations to count their grants as part of COMPASS’ Rodman Ride for Kids goal will make it possible for us to receive an additional 10% match on funds received.
