COMPASS Transition Announcement
We are writing to share the important news that after over 40 years in several different roles with COMPASS, our Executive Director, John Lydon will retire at the end of March. During the past four decades, COMPASS has evolved and grown, expanding its mission to give more families and students the opportunity to succeed in the classroom and at home.
We are pleased to announce that Laura Lajewski, current COMPASS Chief Operating Officer (COO), has been appointed Executive Director. Laura has been a member of the COMPASS team since 2010 and, in working closely with John in her role as COO, has experience with all aspects of the organization.
With her administrative exposure to all of COMPASS’ programs, and in her previous experience as an educator, Laura has first-hand exposure to the needs and challenges our client populations face. Laura’s experience position’s her to assure continued, sound and stable leadership of COMPASS’ programs and services, and we are thrilled to have her in this role.
As Executive Director, Laura will focus on maintaining COMPASS’ position as one Massachusetts’ leading providers of education and human services for youth and families in need. This includes assuring that the COMPASS culture, that has long been at the heart of our organizational success, continues to flourish.
Please join in congratulating Laura! Laura will be partnering with the other outstanding members of the COMPASS leadership team to assure a seamless transition. John has also graciously offered to be available to the team on a consulting basis for the remainder of the year.
