Lou Pacheco Takes Over as Director of Community Services

COMPASS has appointed Louise (Lou) Pacheco as the Director of Community Services, effective June 3, 2024.

“We are pleased to announce Lou as our Director of Community Services.  Lou has the experiences and skills needed for this position and has been an integral part of the program and COMPASS as a whole.  I know she will be great in her new role, “ said Laura Lajewski, Executive Director.

In her new role, Lou will oversee Community Services including Comprehensive Support and Stabilization (CSS), Developmental Services (DDS), and the EAST Project.

Lou received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Worcester State College and her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southern New Hampshire University.

Lou has been working in the human services field for more than 18 years.  In 2006, she joined COMPASS as a Family Specialist, tracking adolescents.  From 2007 to 2013, she was an ongoing social worker at the Department of Children and Families. There, Lou learned about the juvenile court system and the intricacies of the Department of Children and Families. In 2013, she returned to COMPASS as a Program Coordinator. Lou was blessed to have the mentors and experiences that she had during those years, learning child welfare and working closely with at-risk youth and families.

The knowledge that Lou gained throughout these years has allowed her to support our staff here at COMPASS, working closely with them to ensure they provide the necessary support that the families deserve during their most vulnerable times.

“Our staff at COMPASS is what motivates me every day.  Their ambition, empathy, and love for their families shows throughout the tremendous work they do day in and day out.  At COMPASS, we take pride in our relationships with our families and each other. It is important that we focus on our organizational needs to ensure we can meet the needs of our families, and here at COMPASS, we do exactly that,” said Lou.
